B.R. Prabhakara

Mr. Prabhakara, a retired IAS officer from the 1963 Batch (Karnataka cadre), will serve as the bridge between the board of trustees and the advisory board. He has held several key administrative positions at both state and central levels during his tenure. After retiring from government service in 1997, Mr. Prabhakara continues to be on the board of several companies and foundations. Presently Mr. Prabhakara is the Chief Executive of the Gokula Education Foundation, Bangalore, a Private Educational Trust that runs 16 institutions including two hospitals.

K. Jairaj

Mr. Jairaj, a serving senior IAS officer, is currently the Additional Chief Secretary to the Government of Karnataka. A Post Graduate from the Princeton and Harvard University, his expertise is in the field of infrastructure, energy, transport, finance and urban development.

Thomas Pullenkav

Mr. Pullenkav has a graduate degree in Physics and is an alumnus of Institute of Rural Management (IRMA), Anand. After graduating from IRMA, he worked in the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) for 3 years in their Management Pool Division and then for a year in the marketing department of TATA BP Solar. He joined SELCO Solar Light Pvt. Ltd. in 1996 and was formerly the Vice President there. He is currently an independent consultant in the area of sustainable energy.

Jeffrey Prins

Mr. Prins was born and raised in Michigan, U.S.A. After receiving his college degree (Bachelor of Arts) he decided to move to the Netherlands permanently, where both his parents are from, and to study in Amsterdam for his Masters Degree. He subsequently worked at the European Parliament (Brussels and Strasbourg) and then at the Dutch Parliament (The Hague) as a policy advisor. Most recently he was a City Council Member (Amsterdam). He joined DOEN Foundation in 2005, the main fund of the three private Charity Lotteries in the Netherlands (i.a. Dutch Postcode Lottery). At DOEN he is responsible for establishing investment priorities and allocating funding, particularly in the field of climate change and renewable energy.

Adriana Halloran

Ms. Halloran is one of the founding members of Halloran Philanthropies and currently serves as an advisor with special focus on India and Brazil. She has been deeply involved with Financial Inclusion in Latin America, Rural Community Enterprise Development in India and Women’s Cooperative in Mexico. Prior to co-founding Halloran Foundation, Ms. Halloran launched a women’s empowerment program in Angola in association with a local school. She also worked for World Vision Brazil, assisting the development and evaluation of national strategies for the organization. Ms. Halloran holds a BA in International Relations and a MS in International Community Economic Development. She is a native of Brazil living with her husband Brian in Brooklyn, NY.

Alexander Nicholas

Mr. Nicholas joined the Lemelson Foundation in early 2012 and works as a Program Officer. Before joining the Foundation, he served as a Senior Advisor in the Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the US Department of Commerce. He also completed an American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) & Technology Policy Fellowship at the National Science Foundation and the US Department of Commerce, through which he worked on graduate education, industrial partnerships and national innovation policies. Mr. Nicholas received a Ph.D. in neuroscience from Florida State University and performed postdoctoral research at Harvard Medical School and Beth Israel Medical Center.

Patrick Maloney

Mr. Maloney serves as Principal at Imprint Capital Advisors since May 2011. Previously, he was Program Director at the Lemelson Foundation, heading its international investments in for-profit and non-profit organizations developing and distributing energy, water, agricultural and health technologies, primarily in the developing world. Mr. Maloney has an MBA from UC Berkeley and BS from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service. He began his career with the Vietnam Veterans of America Foundation and the International campaign to Ban Landmines. He later worked at Barclays Global Investors to develop the world’s first exchange traded fund risk-optimized to social, environmental, and governance factors. In addition Mr. Maloney has worked at Rosum, a location technology start-up, and at mission driven investors in emerging technologies such as Omidyar Network and Google.org
