The initiative aims to inspire bankers to create and implement numerous financial products to encourage the diffusion of DRE solutions and proliferation of grassroots enterprises
Over the last two decades the banking sector in the country, led by the Nationalized Banks and their rural subsidiaries, has financed for renewable energy solutions for marginalized households, but much more needs to be done. Many bankers are often not aware of the techno-commercial viability of many of the renewable energy related proposals that come to them from approval. SELCO foundation conducts workshops to educate the bankers of various financial institutions. These training Programs also work as a platform for bankers, policy makers, NGOs, entrepreneurs and end-users to discuss different models for financing and leveraging other financial programs. The primary aim of the programs are to bring a mindset change among financiers to foster the creation of suitable financial models for vulnerable households and entrepreneurs working in remote areas.
