Efficiency in built infrastructure of health centers through vernacular construction techniques
Under the National Health Mission, health care delivery in rural and tribal areas have been given utmost importance and is being implemented through infrastructural development for the same. However the actual number of health care centers constructed remains minimal due to lack of efficiency in the planning and design processes. A large gap identified in constructed centers is the underutilization of available resources to maximize efficiency. Meditree is a concept that aims to bridge this gap by creating a modular framework that can be customized to local spatial requirements and vernacular construction mechanisms to provide maximum efficiency within the built space.
